NAG's 2015


This was exclusively Recreational  Competitor Day and Reading

had two teams swimming. The 12&Under's (left below) delivered a

fine swim to finish 5th in a big field of starters.

The Saturday morning was as ever taken up with the Figure Competition

In 13/14/15yrs - Harriette Smith was 5th and Anna Welland 6th

Reading Royals held gold once more in 12& Under

with Mimi Gray, who was joined on the podium by Issy Blinkhorn in Silver. Alyssa Basinger 6th and Eleanor Blinkhorn were other top ten finishers for RR.

In 15 years up Emma Critchley won bronze.

12&Under duet saw the club take a one-two for the second year running. Mimi repeated her 2014 success with new partner Alyssa to take gold and the Blinkhorn sisters Issy and Ele took silver'

Emma Critchley won silver in 15-18yrs Solo with a "well-executed routine" to ‘Soon Will be Found’ by Sia. Great swim. Her interview here

In the 13/14/15 Solo Anna and Harriette reversed their 6th and 5th figure positions.

13/14/15 Duet brought bronze from the pairing of Harriette Smith and Abi Taylor, with two other Reading pairs in 6th (Teri-Faye Coupar and Isabel Turrell and 7th (Anna Welland and Cerys Larsen).

As is traditional the Team competitions took place on the final afternoon. Reading Royals retained the 12U team gold and won silver in the 13/14/15 category. The 15 to 18yrs team finished 6th.

The Team Gold meant once more than Mimi Gray  for the second year running won all four 12U categories in which she competed. Remarkable achievement. Her interview following the defence of her Solo title is here

DAY 3 commenced with the 12& Under Solo. RR had 4 swimmers in the top ten, a remarkable achievement - Ele Blinkhorn (5th), Alyssa Basinger (4th), Isobel Blinkhorn in silver  and Mimi Gray defending her title with gold.
