Christmas Show - Central Pool, Reading

Image slider RIGHT for solos and duets.

This year has been particularly busy with our swimmers competing in rnore competi-

tions than they have for many years. Follwing National Age Groups in 2012 the following swimmers were selected to attend Engknd Talent Camps: Mimi Gray and Abi Taylor level 1, Torrie Usher level 2 and Hannah Mulshaw and Emma Critchley level 3- Hannah and Emma both competed in Croatia in June and came away with a silver medal in the team.

Kate Coupar stepped down this year as Synchro Performance and Development Coach. Iwould like to express my thanks to Kate not only for the work she did in this role, but forall the work she has done and continues to do to make Reading Royals one of the top synchronised swimming clubs in the country.

We have had many successes this year;

firstly at British Championships in Apil the A Squad. claimed a bronze in the combinat:ion event and silver in the tech and free team. Sophie Usher and Rhiannon Williams achieveda silver medal in the duet. At the younger end of the club we held our regular novicecompetition in June, which had over 200 entries! Our swimmers won many medals including gold for our novice team and silver for the 12 & under team. Just two weeks agowe competed at the National Age Group competition and had numerous successes including gold for the 12 & under combination and gold for the 13/14 duet and team. Iwould particularly like to congratulate Emma Critchley who won the Shacklock Trophy forthe highest overall score for the whole competition. This is a tremendous achievement as this award has always been awa-ded to a swimmer in the15/16/17 age Group' Well done to all the swimmers for their achievements.

I would like to thank all the coaches, choreographers and those behind the scenes who

all help to make Reading Royals the success that it is. We always need more volunteers

and coaches so if you are interested please speak to any of the coaches or committee

members. Jan Clayton MBE, President Reading Royals SSC
