A Message from our President
Welcome and thank you for supporting our summer show. This summer show replaces our Christmas show, which now conflicts with the date of syncho's national competitions.
As I have written in previous messages there will be many changes in synchro & it will take time to adjust to the new synchro calendar but part of the changes was the new Novice competition that the club held in June & judging by the response to this competition the future for synchro is much improved. I would like to thank all the members of our club for contributing to the success of this competition - it was hard work for many of you but I have had many expressions of appreciation. We are all very grateful to our vice chairperson, Jean Hulbert, without whom there would have been no competition - so thank you Jean.
At the time of writing this message there is not much to report news-wise except the retirement of our longest serving coach, Doug Coker, who has been a member of the club since 1974. Doug, with his wife Barbara, has been awarded most of the top awards in synchro because of his dedication to the sport. We would like to thank you Doug for your constant support of the swimmers & wish you a happy retirement - thank you.
The format of this show is very different from the Christmas show as most of our swimmers are very much into their training programmes. The idea of this show is to display to you the development of our swimmers as they progress through the different levels of skill.
Finally I would like to thank Sarah Buckley for arranging this show & hope you all enjoy it.
